"Do I need to make an appointment?"

We prefer that you do. It may be possible to stop by and get worked into the schedule, but it makes it much easier for all of us if you call ahead. Because we spend extra time with each patient, it is more difficult to just get worked into the schedule.

"How long does a treatment take?"

Your initial visit to the office will usually take about 1 hour. After that, the treatment portion of the visit will take about 15 minutes, and maybe another 15 minutes if we do any therapies after the adjustment.

"Do I need to have x-rays taken?"

Usually. If you have been to another chiropractor or medical doctor and have recent x-rays from them, we can probably use those. Each case is evaluated individually to determine whether or not x-rays are needed. There is a saying that I like and tend to live by, "To see is to know. Not to see is to guess." We don't want to guess about your health!

"How many times do I need to be treated?"

There is no magic number of treatments that will work for everyone. Your spine will be evaluated and a treatment recommendation worked out based on what we find. I have patients that reach their goal after only 3-4 treatments and others that require several treatments over a period of weeks or months. I will only recommend the care that I truly believe you need.

"Does it hurt?"

Generally not. I use the "activator" adjusting instrument. This makes a very quick, low force adjustment. In more serious cases where there is muscle spasm or degeneration, a slight amount of discomfort may be felt during the adjustment. I have never had a patient experience an undue amount of pain during the treatment. I usually do some light muscle stretching or massage after the adjustment to get you relaxed and feeling as good as possible. I've actually had patients fall asleep during this part of the treatment.

"Do you accept insurance?"

Yes. We accept: Medicare, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, auto accident policies, worker's compensation, and many other types of insurance. If you have questions about your particular insurance, there is usually a telephone number listed on your insurance card that you can call to find out your chiropractic benefits. Or, if you prefer, we can make the call for you.

"Can you treat children?"

Yes. We really enjoy our children patients. They usually respond very quickly to care. Childhood is filled with bumps and bruises. Also, the birth process itself can be very traumatic. It makes sense to have your child's spine checked periodically to prevent minor problems from becomming bigger ones as they grow.

"Do you accept credit cards?"

Yes. We accept Visa and MasterCard.
